Warm accounts: the checklist before you schedule anything

New accounts get throttled. Here's how to warm one up before you automate.

Scheduling tools get blamed for low reach that's actually caused by cold accounts. A brand-new account that immediately blasts 4 posts a day looks like a bot to every platform's spam filter — no matter how the posts were published.

The 7-day warm-up

Day 1–2: complete the profile. Photo, bio, link, banner. Follow 10–20 relevant accounts. Don't post yet.

Day 3–4: engage like a human. Comment on 5–10 posts in your niche, reply, like. Platforms track this.

Day 5–7: post manually once per day, natively from the app. Watch that the posts get normal distribution.

Week 2 onward: switch to your scheduler and ramp to your real cadence — 1 to 4 posts per day is safe on every major platform.

Signals that you're throttled

Views stuck at exactly zero (not low — zero), hashtags not indexing, or your account not appearing in search. If you see these, stop posting for 48 hours, engage manually, then resume at one post per day.

And the obvious one people skip: never buy followers. A 10K-follower account with 30 views per post is permanently worse than a 100-follower account with honest reach.
